With the arrival of warm weather, I’m trying to get outside more often with my camera. Work permitting, I’d really like to put together another short film of time-lapse footage this summer.
Here’s a sneek preview of some footage I shot over Memorial Day weekend.
With everyone taking the day off work, I decided to pack up the car and traipse around Eastern Colorado, scouting film locations. Wandering down a dirt road, in the middle of nowhere, I found exactly what I was hoping to: a beautifully decrepit– and mildly creepy – abandoned farm house, near Deer Trail. I pulled over as fast as I could, set up the cameras, and ended up shooting until 3 in the morning. I’ll definitely be going back for more, too!
A seized engine block in what used to be somebody’s backyard.
Bathtub, filled with debris.
The farm house, bathed in moonlight.
The Milky Way.
One last shot of the Milky Way, before I headed home.
