Thank You, Firefighters!

SECOND UPDATE! T-shirts, posters and stickers NOW AVAILABLE for purchase. (Check ‘em out) ALL PROCEEDS will go to benefit the Colorado Red Cross. Order HERE! Thanks! ***

UPDATE! The amazingly generous folks at BADASS Denver print shop, Soapoint Graphics have teamed up with me to make fire-fighter t-shirts available for purchase! ALL proceeds from sales will go directly the Colorado chapter of the Red Cross, to assist in wildfire relief efforts.  A lot of families have been displaced, so anything we can do to help, we should. If you’d like to pitch in, please stop by Soapoint’s online store. The shirts– along with some other goodies — will be up and ready for purchase on Monday, July 9th. THANK YOU!!!

I put together a couple of illustrations today as my small way of showing support and gratitude to the smoke jumpers and municipal fire fighters who are out risking their necks for the rest of us here in my home state of Colorado. ****

Thanks, Firefighters - Facebook Cover Photo

I wish I could do more to show my appreciation, but I thought I could at least lend a little moral support.

If you click on the top picture, you’ll get a photo that’s sized to work perfectly as a facebook cover photo, so if you’d like to save it, and share it, please do. Same goes for the other illustration– feel free to spread it around.

Thanks to all who have pitched in combating the wildfires throughout Colorado, and my hopes and best wishes for those who may have lost a home, or are waiting to find out if there’s bad news.
Hang in there. We’re all behind you.

Centennial Storage

I started a whole slew of look-and-feel concepts this week for a new client, Centennial Storage Ltd., in Littleton, Colorado.

I’ll be shooting a promotional video for them, along with some interviews and customer testimonials. I’ll also be contributing to the redesign of their website, with the help of my good friend, Scott Rogers, who’s been working with the client for years.

Some of these homepage concepts turned out great, I think, and some probably need to die sad, lonely deaths in the shadows of obscurity.

The layout above is probably my favorite –it’s  clean, legible, and tells the company’s story graphically, and in the text.

I had a lot of fun with the vehicle illustrations and the vector scenery in this design. I’d be happy if this one got selected.

In every pack of firecrackers, there’s at least one dud.  Unfortunately, I fear this brown beauty is most likely headed for the garbage bin. I wanted to make it look like an old, 1960s automotive owner’s manual, but something about it never clicked. Back to the drawing board.

Okay, back on track.  Although the design is a little cluttered, I really like the Americana vibe, and how it harkens back to the heyday of post-war camper culture. After getting some feedback, a lot of people liked this one, but felt it was too busy, so I toned it down a bit in the next photo.

My “Winnebago Nostalgia” concept, cleaned up.

All in all, I’m happy with where these are headed, and I sincerely hope they help my client land a lot of happy new customers for his RV storage business. I also hope someone lets me drive one of those things. :)
