One of my very favorite people on Earth, Tanya Hanford, asked me if I’d like to film her sister Tricia’s wedding last weekend. I love Tanya to pieces, so of course I said yes, but I’d never shot video for a wedding before, so I was about 12 different kinds of nervous.

Thankfully, everything turned out pretty great, but holy cow, that was A LOT of work!

My respect for event photographers and videographers has always been extremely high, but after having done it myself, it’s off the charts. I brought along three cameras to cover the ceremony, and ran around with my 7D on a monopod for 12 hours, like an absolute crazy person, trying to be Johnny-on-the-spot to catch as many fleeting, candid moments as I possibly could. Luckily, I was able to grab some really nice shots, and ended up having a ton of fun.

Now all I need to do is sift through 80+ GBs of footage! I may even drive back to the wedding venue today to shoot some timelapse for some extra transitional footage.
Can’t wait to get the final edit finished! I’m really hoping to turn out something that the couple and their family can really enjoy and be proud of. Wish me luck!
