HR Backcountry | Promo Video

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to start filming a promotional video for the Highlands Ranch Community Association Backcountry Wilderness Area. Thanks to the invaluable help of park supervisor, Mark Giebel, and HRCA staff members Eric and Hope, I was able to get some pretty great images of the wilderness preserve, and their two beautiful draft horses, Bella and Buster.

In the weeks to come, I’ll be going back for more videography, and ultimately editing together a web video to advertise the Backcountry’s fantastic hay rides and sleigh rides. It’s been all kinds of fun so far– can’t wait to shoot there again!

Centennial Storage – Promo Video

UPDATE:   Here’s a few rough composite clips, combining a small sample of the live footage I shot for the client, along with simple motion graphics. Hoping to refine and expand on this general esthetic for the final promo video.

The iterative process for the website I’ve been designing for Centennial Storage has been fairly extensive and protracted, but I think  (thank goodness!) the client’s narrowed it down to a final version.

Having made some progress on the site design, I drove to one of their RV storage locations yesterday to start shooting b-roll and background plates for a promotional video I’m filming to go along with it.

Here’s a few quick concept boards I put together to pitch them on the idea of compositing their sales language as 3D text within the moving shots.

And here’s a couple of my favorite still frames from  my videography on the lot.

Independence Pass / Aspen – Fall, 2012

A few pictures and video still-frames from a short road trip I took from from Denver to Aspen last weekend.

Aspen leaves– obligatory, but still nice.

These trees remind me of can-can dancers in a Toulouse-Lautrec painting.

Bridge in the wilderness preserve in Aspen.

I was really curious to know what these berries might taste like, but the thought of hallucination, followed by death put a bit of a damper on finding out.

Some great back-lighting behind this stand of aspen.

Sunset at Twin Lakes, CO.

Moonlight illuminates the top of Independence Pass.

Top of the Rockies, around 2am. Already super COLD at this elevation.
