Photo Composite – Xmas In April?
Got a decent start today on a photo composite that will eventually be part of a print and web campaign for Modern Christmas Trees . I have quite a bit of work left to do, but it’s lookin’ alright for something that started out as a boring photo of my front hallway.
UPDATE: Here’s the image, moving through the compositing process, and a final(ish) version with some placeholder copy.

Spring-time Photoshoppery
I couldn’t get to sleep last night, so I messed around a little bit more with my “Adventure” series of image composites.

The weather’s been gorgeous here, and it’s given me the itch to take the camera up into the mountains again. Hopefully the scenario pictured here won’t play itself out.

Adventure Serial Pre-Production
Some time this summer, I’m hoping to shoot photos & video of vintage cars, motorcycles, airplanes and some pin-up models, and then composite all of ‘em into preposterous action/adventure scenarios.
I haven’t decided if I’ll limit myself to stills, or be truly masochistic and attempt them as VFX scenes in After Effects. Either way, should be pretty fun!
These are *REALLY* quick and dirty mockups I made in Photoshop using stock images, but they give a decent indication of the direction I’d like to go in.
When I start work in earnest, I fully expect the files to have a positively *stupid* number of layers. I want them to be highly stylized, but still relatively convincing.
Once I’m caught up on client work and have some more free-time, hopefully I’ll make some progress on this goofy idea.
