Neal McCoy | Web Design

Today, I started design on a temporary splash page for renowned country music artist, Neal McCoy — a simple, but functional platform for Neal to deliver tour, news and other information to his fans while my programming partner, Tom Benway, and I begin development on his full website.

Neal’s team has been a real pleasure to collaborate with; some of the most engaged, enthusiastic clients I’ve ever been lucky enough to work with. Can’t wait to get started on the full site!

RMC – Product Photography

Earlier this week, I shot a slew of product photos for Colorado custom hat makers, Rocky Mountain Caps, photographing, isolating, and re-touching around 30 pieces of inventory.

These are just a few examples of the company’s extensive “Signature Series”, which include numerous varieties of surgical caps; hats made especially for patients undergoing chemo-therapy; and a line of hats for chefs and bakers.

Though they boast a large collection of pre-made hats, Rocky Mountain Caps distinguishes themselves by offering a virtually limitless selection of bespoke caps, where the customer can pick their own style, fabric, embroidery and applique, to create a truly one-of-a-kind hat.  (The selection is ENORMOUS — their website will include *thousands* of textiles to choose from. It’s CRAZY.).  To that aim, I also created a group of vector art overlays, to allow customers to visualize their creations as they use the site’s “design your own” application to assemble their fancy new hat.

Rocky Mountain Caps

I’m very pleased to welcome Rocky Mountain Caps as a new client. This local Colorado company designs and fabricates custom headwear for doctors, nurses, and others in the medical industry, as well as special hats and head coverings for patients undergoing chemotherapy.  They also offer a line of hats that caters towards bikers, snowboarders, skiers and other active people who need to keep their hair in place, or stay warm and dry underneath a helmet.

I’ll be creating the company’s branding, designing their website, and taking their product photography. My good friend and frequent partner, Tom Benway at vectordefector, will be developing the site, along with it’s e-commerce solution. Shown here are some of the logo concepts I’ve been working on.

Centennial Storage – Promo Video

UPDATE:   Here’s a few rough composite clips, combining a small sample of the live footage I shot for the client, along with simple motion graphics. Hoping to refine and expand on this general esthetic for the final promo video.

The iterative process for the website I’ve been designing for Centennial Storage has been fairly extensive and protracted, but I think  (thank goodness!) the client’s narrowed it down to a final version.

Having made some progress on the site design, I drove to one of their RV storage locations yesterday to start shooting b-roll and background plates for a promotional video I’m filming to go along with it.

Here’s a few quick concept boards I put together to pitch them on the idea of compositing their sales language as 3D text within the moving shots.

And here’s a couple of my favorite still frames from  my videography on the lot.
